Backup the files from the device drive to an external drive. Turn out the lights so OneDrive can't see where you hide the disconnected external drive.

And be careful when you reconnect the drive that OneDrive isn't lurking, hovering, waiting, to synch its (empty) self to the reconnected external drive.
