Which disk is that ? It looks like a nominally 500gb disk.

If you click where it says "(show details)" it will tell you why.

    Hmm.

Looks like there is data on that drive.

What exactly happens when you boot the system?

I'm confused. Does it boot into Windows?
If not, what is the error?

    Thanks.

Hello my M.2 is not showing up to install windows 10
that partition is over 464 gb. It shouldnt have the recovery id.

You can change ids using something like diskgenius ( free version should do the job)

Rt click the partition and select "Modify partition parameters"

If it already say ms basic data partition, then it is ok.

If it something else, then in the dropdown select NTFS ( MS basic data partiition)

    M.2 formatted by accident/ MBR / UEFI Issues-modify-parameters-1.jpg

    click OK

Then click SAve All at the top left.

Have a look at what windows tells you is the problem with partition 4

Patz, don't panic! I'm sure that we can get to the bottom of this, but we need as much information as possible so that we are not left simply guessing.

    First, some basic observations:

Based upon your first screenshot, that disk looks like a disk that is setup for Windows. Windows would be installed on the large partition (partition number 4). What's interesting is that in the first screenshot, you have partition 4 selected, which would be the correct partition, however, when you were asked to click on "show details" you suddenly had partition 5 selected. That's the wrong partition! Windows won't install to that partition because it is a recovery partition AND it is only 498MB in size!

If you wanted to try installing Windows, you should select partition 4, but if you like, maybe we can help try to recover your existing installation first if you could provide the information requested below as a starting point.

You start by saying that your computer "failed to boot up correctly". Could you elaborate on this? Did you see any specific error messages? What PRECISELY were the symptoms?

"and I tried to reinstall windows since I had an image" - What led you to jump to that rather than to try recovering from the state that you were in? Were there any things that you tried first before simply jumping to that step?

Was there anything in particular that you were doing when the problem started? Be specific!

"I have tried every option to recover my PC" - What does "every option" consist of?

What are your BIOS settings related to the NVMe drive? This can make a big difference in how we should proceed.

Could you provide the make and model of your your computer, or, if it is a homebuilt system, provide the make and model of the motherboard? This would help us to be able to lookup what drivers related to storage are available for your system and to possibly find documentation showing us what BIOS options are available.

Could you please also tell us what other drives (including hard disks and SSDs) are installed in that system besides the NVMe?

EDIT: I don't think it is a BIOS setting or driver issue, because, based upon what I see, the disk is showing up! But as much info as possible would still be helpful.

M.2 formatted by accident/ MBR / UEFI Issues-e9a5d2ff-f51d-4602-90bf-661b753db02d.jpeghello hsehestedt and thank you for your reply and i am not panicking yet i have faith in this forum, may be i was not clear in previous posts

I have 2 drives in my system ( a Samsung 970 evo plus was my main M.2 nvme) drive and another (Samsung drive 850 Samsung evo ) was a clone of the NVME ( un plugged )

i originally had the 850 evo as my main drive. then i cloned the 850 to the 970 nvme without issue, and i unplugged the 970 and every thing was fine, I then plugged the the 970 back in to format the drive but my system would not boot, i then plugged it again and had just the NVME in and it would not boot, so since i had a backup image it tried to restore to tthe NVME and that also failed , so then i tried to reinstall windows and it would not do i full install got to where it ask me for my username and password which it accepted and would not go any further.

so i tried to reinstall windows again and saw the M.2 drive which i formatted to install windows and that did not work either , so i tried to install an image that i had but Marc]um could not find an image to install

at some point i was able to get to the windows repair screen and tried all the available options on the repair menu
    to no avail

i have a games partition on a regular hard disk which is probably what you see in the previous attachments

    PHEW...
