how do I go back to win 7 from 10?

I no longer have the windows.old folder. the restore partition on my Toshiba tecra R940 also is gone. I don't have a copy of windows 7. I do have the product key sticker on the bottom on the machine.

I cant get the camera or fingerprint sensor to work, I was thinking maybe it would work if I went back to win 7.

Why would you downgrade to an unsupported system to check out this problem ? It would also involve wiping all partitions to do a clean install from the ISO in post 2. Are you prepared to reinstall all your programs and restore data from a backup ? What Win10 Build are you on ?

Try to troubleshoot current installation first. Use these tips-

You may be able to get them to work in W10. Enter your model number here: Support - Dynabook & Toshiba

See if there are any relevant drivers/utilities available. If none for W10, try W8.1.

the camera and fingerprint sensor did work when I first upgraded to 10. worked fine. then I did a reinstall of 10 and they stopped working. I cant even find my exact model on the support site: TECRA R940 PT439U-01H005. I tried installing some apps for the camera and fingerprint utility with no luck using a similar model that appeared on the site. its possible I'm doing something wrong my windows skills are rusty.. windows 10 pro... . build 18363.778... its unclear to me which model to use/download from on their site... ?

Id rather fix the problem and keep win 10 if possible. so far having no luck.

I have no programs or data on this pc... so windows 7 would be the only thing to install if I took that route. FYI.

Where did you buy this laptop from, which country? Toshiba website should have the drivers for it, the chipset is the one I believe you would need

cant find my exact model on the site. many models but not my exact one. USA is the country. it was given to me by a friend so I did not buy it. trying to search for drivers now. once I figure out how to do it.
