Windows 8 Pro Won't Install on My Disk

Ok. I did something stupid yesterday.
I just purchased a laptop for the firs time. It;s an ASUS.
After upgrade to Windows 1803, I used my partition manager to remove the recovery partition.
While I was there, I removed another partition and the laptop instantly shut down and botted to the BIOS.
Wans; sure wht to do so I formatted the drive as NTFS. The system boots to my Wondows 8 Pro disk bu setrup tells me:
"Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems WIndows con only be installed to GPT disks."

Is there anything I can do, or am I out $320??

    Any help will be appreciated,

    James

You should be able to select custom install, then use the disk tools to delete all partitions until the whole drive is shown as unallocated. Then just install into the unallocated space. Windows will create any and all the partitions it needs automatically.

Windows 8 Pro is installing now!

In didn't suspect it was that simple seeing I've never had a laptop and doing something stupid like I did.

    Thanks much,

Do you want W8 though ?

You should be able to create a W10 USB drive using the official media creation tool. As your laptop was already running W10 it should automatically licence correctly.

Yes, I have the installation media I created with the iso file.
Can I install that right away or de I need WW8 Pro to install updates??

Also, during the setup process and after installing the mouse pad isn't working.
    No pointer, nothing.

If you have the Win 10 ISO install media, you should be able to just start over and install Win 10, as described in Alpha's post #2, and Mooley's post #4:

Windows 8 is no longer, its actually now windows 8.1... So if you want to use 8 get an iso of windows 8.1 instead and yes it will work with your windows 8 license keys

What he said. If I use the Windows 8.1 ISO it reads my laptops OEM 8.0 Core key and installs Windows 8.1 Core automatically. Activation is automatic too.
