We couldn't update the system reserved partition

The update automatically tries to install but I keep getting this. It says Windows 10 couldn't be installed. We couldn't update the system reserved partition. Several times I got error code: 8000FFFF.
I'm trying to update a Dell Optiplex 780 with Windows 7 Pro. SP1

this is because your system reserved partition does not have sufficient disk space.
NO -- it isn't. There are numerous posts in this forum about folks doing an upgrade to an existing Win7 system that has the default 100MB System Reserved partition.

if you do a fresh install, you won't have this problem.
Right -- and without doing the Upgrade first, they will never be able to activate their Win10 install.

I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and installed 3 computers. Two of them gave the not enough room error and wouldn't do the update, but installed fine using the ISO.
