A restart should clear any programs from accessing the files. That may even be windows updater downloading still.

There maybe something in Task manager you could see if there is a service / application running that is access those files that looks related to the upgrade?
Yeah, I managed to hunt it down in my processes after several restarts. It was one of the Host Processes for Windows Services (Which was using the most RAM). I'll start the download again, and report back in an hour or so when it's done. :)

But now it refuses to download it at all, even after another few restarts. Simply saying it's failing, and giving me a new error code:

Ahh for Error 8007003 you want to follow this > Windows Update error 80070003 - Windows Help

This is a corrupt download within the Windows Update Manager.

Yeah, I just did that a moment ago and now it's downloading fine. Phew, I'll tell you how it does soon enough. Thanks

Okay, so I've downloaded and installed it again, and it just did the same thing as the first time. It cut off at exactly the same percent and it's just black screen with no cursor or interface what so ever. Most I could possibly do is a hard restart, or wait the hour till it reverts back to Windows 7 :/

Interesting, what are your results when you run the upgrade advisor?

I don't know. It's still on a black screen. Shall I do a hard reset?

    Would be a good idea.

We also need to get your installation log.

Well I didn't see your reply till a moment ago, and it's already reverted back to Windows 7
Here's the upgrade advisor screen and the upgrade error code.

I'm afraid you'll have to tell me where to get the installation log from.
