    Hi all,

I plugged a second monitor in my Intel integrated graphics and Windows 10 was there! I completed the installation and set my primary display back to my GTX card and unplugged the Intel monitor.

Maybe just switching your monitor cable in sufficient instead of using a second monitor.

    Best of luck!

Have you tried restarting after the monitor was unplugged to make sure it still works?

I can't understand Windows 10. I managed to finish installation, enter desktop, install 347.88 drivers (it seems they didn't install in normal mode, only works correctly in safe mode), and when restarted, again frozen in password screen.

Ok, I entered in safe mode, updated the driver, and I saw how date driver changed from 07/22 (the driver that windows is installed) to a driver of march. I rebooted again, tha computer did NOT hang in password screen, and when I was on desktop, a few seconds later, my screen flickered. I went to my graphic driver and it automatically changed to 07/22 AGAIN, without asking me about updating driver. I restarted my computer and it froze again after putting my password.

So, it definetly is the driver of nvidia 750m. Anyone knows how can I stop Windows update this driver without my permission?

Well at least we've isolated the issue...

How did you manage to finish the installation? I can't even get that far!

Something new. When windows changed my driver without asking, I clicked the button you can see here (revert old driver version):

Once done that, and restarted, it seems Windows has stopped changing the driver, so now my computer is working without any freezes.

So, how I explained, it seems you have to install the old driver in safe mode, go back to normal, and when windows change the driver, revert and the problems seems to be finished.

I always can finish the installation like this:

1- Clean install of Windows 8.1
2- In windows 8, in control panel, I updated the intel driver (from windows, not with intel ones).
3- Then, install nvidia 347.88 drivers, and restart.
4- Update to windows 10 with windows update. Doing that, Windows 10 finished installation for me.
5- Once finished, windows hangs in dell (windows) splash screen. After two forced power off and on, Windows restore screen appears. I restored windows 10 system. Once finished, I configurated everything and I was in desktop.
6- boot to safe mode, installes 347.88 drivers and restarted.
7- in normal windows, windows re-updated my nvidia driver. I reverted back the driver and everything works now.

Sorry my english, I'm spanish. After 2 days and almost 15 reinstalls of Windows 8 and Windows 10 in different ways, at least it seems we know where the problem is.

Update: My drivers keep updating without permission to a newer version. So every time it changes, I have to install old ones in safe mode if I restart or revert to old one If I realized they have been changed. Dell HAVE to update the nvidia drivers soon so the problem can be fixed.

Well maybe I'll hold off on the update until Dell / Nvidea fixes this driver issue with the 7537.. I wonder if br00n0 is having the same problems since he is the only other one who has successfully installed Win10 so far.

I suggest everyone who has the Inspiron 7000 series with gt 750m to hold off updating to windows 10. Lets forced Dell and Nvidia to come up with a stable driver and patch for windows 10!

    Automatic update question?

after reverting the drivers back open up a command terminal and disable automatic update. You can't disable automatic updates in the GUI.

Also you could just disable the update service all together.

Last but not least, everyone thought I was crazy when I said , " a day will come when AMD will not have as many issues as intel".

    Guess who was right😂
