Testing 10162 Installer: One critical error and the same of 10147

The 162 release gave me exactly the same error of 10147 Installer: Critical Error/Start menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it next time you sign in. Sign out now. Harder to get rid of that no end loop in 162. Shut down and taking out the installer device is the only solution. We must enter twice Customize Settings: The second time it is not the same screen.

I'm not able to update to Intel since 10130: See screen shot. It works under Intel Driver Update Utility only for the chip set. Running a 100 % Intel Mobo: Graphics is not shown since 10130 in Intel Updater but it's install under Graphics Property and It's not an issue.

I'm ask to register or to be an Insider ( I do believe I'm already one) again and I won't try it: it doesn't work. But I'm ask in Action Center (didn't go there many time yet) Why I don't register? I answer them very politely under 147 and thank's God they disable the pop-up.

Post-installation when as usual very well: Able to set default apps correctly and by having them aside each time I do a new installation, it goes faster.

    All the best,

Does your laptop have switchable graphics? Intel and something else? What chipset?

Testing 10162 Installer Second Attempt Offline: Installer Failure (74,147,162x2)

It's the fourth time that I face this problem (frozen installer) at the exact same place in the installer sequence: On the second high resolution JUST A MOMENT... blue screen that end gray on shut down (today I let it run 70 minutes: fully frozen Installer). In 2015, 10 minutes with the same screen without any further information then JUST A MOMENT and a spinning circle sounds like eternity.

Each time I took the good decision and the installation was not compromise: Pressing the main switch half a second. It should refresh the monitor and wake-up the installer. Under Ten, it refresh the monitor but it shutdown and cause the no end loop critical error.

What a beautiful machine! Waiting for the next one?

I am sure these problems with install are due to (lack of available Intel) chipset drivers. They are power related issues where the CPU slows down because it gets too busy and gets hot. I have a similar situation with a Celeron M Acer Laptop with an Intel 910/915 chipset/integrated GMA. Its old enough for no support from Acer or Intel, but will run Windows 8 with Microsoft generic drivers. It is sufficiently well specced to run Windows 10. I've no doubt it will Run 10, just won't get through the install process yet.

First the "Just a moment..." part of setup hangs there, and then, if I interrupt by powering off, the setup may resume at the "Who Owns this Computer" or suchlike, takes some user input, up to create a new account then the whole thing hangs again when the next button is hit after completing the password hint. After some time an error message appears "Something went wrong", and no more interaction is possible. Sometimes it gets to a lock screen with either "Defaultuser0" or "Other user" unable to log on. It'll get fixed sometime soon, just keep letting Microsoft know about it - these install failures will not be automatically reported by Windows Error reporting like BSODs and errors which occur when the OS is running are.
If not in the Insider program, use the Microsoft answers pages or the Windows 10 Technet links, and keep on bothering the fine folks here who usually are among the first to find a solution!

I find out on my second attempt that Windows Update indicates that it failed updating but this is a Windows Update error: the Graphics are on board since 10130 and provided by Windows Update. It's a false reading!

Don't have a laptop and a switchable one. My resolution is also fix by the 10162 installer because it sees factory settings when Windows Update is disable (not activated yet): 1920 x 1024. Intel Graphics apps is not on board yet and it's a very good news and a gain over 10074.

None of the above: Those things don't happen on an 100% Intel Mother board. It's not that hard to complete the installation. Maybe I should add that when it it freeze, the installation is finish or almost complete. It's the installer that can not reach the end of is cycle. I said that the installation was never compromise and answering you is the best example I can give.

This is not the case: False reading of Windows Update. I'm still off-line!
