Windows 10 hasn't been released at all yet. Comes out the end of July.

As above. If you want to try 10 Preview (bearing in mind it's a Preview and has bugs at the moment) you could clean install from the ISO and I think that should get you the Pro version.

I am running win 10 preview on a VM (Win 10 Pro) and a old laptop. The laptop was an upgrade from Win 8.1 and since it was the home version the Win 10 preview is also the home version. I would like to test the upgrade from win 10 home preview to win 10 pro preview. So my question is the preview version of the upgrade (Win10 home preview to Pro preview) software available.

Sorry for having left out the word preview in the original question.

I don't know to be honest. In Windows 8, if you buy the 'Pro Pack' to upgrade from Core to Pro in a physical store all you get is a Product Key. Then you type in the key to upgrade.

I don't know whether a Pro Pack product key is the same as a product key for windows Pro itself? If so you might be able to install 10 Preview Home (not sure how you do this) and then try the Pro product key which is publicly available? But there's a couple of big assumptions in there - it might not work.

I would think its done via add features, just like you do it in Windows 8.1. You just enter the Pro key, no software required. I'm already running Pro and there is no Media Center in Windows 10 so I won't have an Add Features option to be able to tell you for sure its there or where it is. In Windows 8.1 its on the System Page.

If you find Add Features try this key, Build 10074, 10122, and 10130 Product key: 6P99N-YF42M-TPGBG-9VMJP-YKHCF , it might be a Pro key.

I did a upgrade install with a ISO on my Win 8.1.1 core version and it upgraded to the Pro version. I used a ISO I downloaded from MS. It is build 10130.

I was surprised when I saw that it said Pro instead of home. I'm not that happy with the install and I might reload Win 8.
