Can't install Windows 10, several errors.

    @alphanumeric No, I always select in the BIOS to install from the DVD / USB. In the partitions screen, I just do the whole disk unallocated and try to install.

    Anyways, I tried switching the hard drive for another one (from my test rig) and now it fails with another error - 0xC0000005. I also tried downloading a fresh copy of the iso file and putting it on the USB drive, but it failed again with 0x800703e6.

    Solved! Just disabled a function in the BIOS called "SATA IDE combined mode" and it successfully installed Windows 10!

    Good stuff. I'll have to Google that to figure out what it is. My BIOS doesn't have that mode/option?

    My options are AHCI or IDE, that's it. This the first I've heard of "Combined mode". Anyway, the OP has it all sorted so that's good.
