Gabe stated that Windows 10 Insiders can go right to the RTM. If this is not so then and if I cannot update without giving MS my Windows 7 Key. I will just stay on Windows 7.
That statement was meant to reflect that you would not have to clean install the RTM if you are now running the Preview. That's all. In the past if you were running a beta or preview release there was no upgrade option to the final release. You hade to reinstall to get the final. The question now is, if you clean installed the preview will the RTM be fully activated when you upgrade. Indications are if you originally upgraded from Windows 7 or 8 to the preview you'll be fully activated and good to go when you upgrade to the RTM. If you clean installed 10 TP maybe not. I've seen hints that you will be fine but nothing official. Likely because if they say it officially, everybody and their dog will sign up for the preview and do a clean install just to get Windows 10 for free.

Depends on whether you clean install or upgrade. I upgraded my laptop from 8.1 Core (OEM embedded key) and got 10 Home. I think all the early builds were Pro. They just said Windows 10 in the watermark, no Home or Pro mentioned. Now for me it shows Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro in the watermark and on the system page.

Every body and there dog will be signing up because W10 will be FREE for the first year and M$ is making sure every body is aware of that.

It's a free upgrade in the first year. Anybody running the preview gets to upgrade to RTM too. I just haven't seen it said officially, that if you clean install the preview you get a free license past the end of the trial period. A lot of these tweets etc are posted completely out of context, and then its implied that they mean something they really don't. It makes it really hard to keep track of what's actually fact and what's fiction.

At this point there is so much speculation and rumors on the go that I'm having a really hard time keeping track of what's real and what's fiction.
