    Update from ISO Failing?

I setup an anniversary ISO on my USB drive and tried to do an update. I chose to keep all my current settings and programs. It gets to the point of the first restart then crashes. I gets to 100%, says its going to restart soon then a window comes up saying Installation Failed. Here is the setuperr.log

    Code:

Hi, as a guess, you might try to reinstall the driver(s) if you can.
    E.g.
    What is asmtufdriver.sys ? | System Explorer

    And you should try running
    chkdsk c: /F
Your PC will need to restart.
Make sure the result is clear or fixed.
Post back the result, which will be on the screen briefly.
Otherwise you can get the result as follows:
How do I see the results of a CHKDSK that ran on boot? - Ask Leo!

    then
    SFC /Scannow
    from an elevated command prompt

Hi, i actually did a chkdsk and a sfc scan before even posting this. The drivers its listing im pretty sure are mainly ones from the Asus Ai Suite 3 which i deleted along time ago. It seems to be having a problem whenever it gets to the point of setting the system to restart. I don't really know what the other errors mean exactly aside from the driver ones. Obviously though its saying its failing to edit the registry and a file is missing in the update folder. Does anyone have any insight into what causes these other errors?

Hi, I think the clue lies in the error msg
    0x80004005
Searching for this shows (just a quick look) it's related to Windows update and relatively intractable.

This may be of interest. Suggest you inspect your disk structure carefully.

    ExecuteCurrentOperations reported disk full!

    - that looks worth exploring. Do you have enough spare space? As above, post a screenshot of disk management.

Sometimes that's the only realistic way- upgrades usually give more problems, always provided your PC is Win 10 compatible.

Yeah it was already windows 10 just wasn't getting the update via windows update for some reason, so i tried to ISO and it still had problems, owell clean install is working fine aside from some annoying problems with alt tabbing borderless windowed games zzz.

I had that error trying to upgrade from Windows 8.1. The problem was due to a partially corrupted system partition which booted Windows 8.1 fine but prevented my upgrade to Windows 10. I managed to repair the partition and upgrade successfully. See my post at https://www.tenforums.com/installatio...x80004005.html
