Best way to clean install windows 10

There are only two ways to clean install - boot from a usb drive or dvd.

Do you mean it's final destination when installed ie on a separate drive, partition, virtual hard drive etc.

It is if you want the installation to be successful. You can enable them again after the installation has finished though.

Is it really necessary?

Not possible to really answer as the statement does say "some" i.e. it is conditional!

So if your mobo does not support them then yes, otherwise no.

You can try without of course first if you do not know.

I would recommend using a USB flash drive if clean installing Windows 10 with UEFI.
