Upgrading From Win7 Enterprise to Win10

I'm trying to beat the MSoft clock that runs out on 7/29 for the free upgrade to Win10. Wouldn't you know it, of all the hiccups I would get is the error saying "Can't update from Win 7 Server, or Enterprise to Win10. See Admin." Well, I AM THE ADMIN!! AAARRGGHH!! So, what's the quickest way to get around this conundrum? I DON'T have 7 days.

Microsoft never offered to upgrade Enterprise for free.

Wasn't exactly my question, although, I understand what you're saying. So, my only option is to wipe the disk clean, and buy Win10? OR... OR...if I already have a LEGAL version of Win10 for my laptop, is it "kosher" to load that on this Enterprise Desktop for free. Even if I have to wipe Enterprise 7 clean, and start with my legal version of Win10, will my Win10 license allow that?

    Thanks

It's my understanding that Enterprise Upgrades have to go through the IT department for the company/organization that owns the Enterprise/Volume licensing for what you have installed.

You can move your Windows 10 install from one PC to another, assuming its a retail edition. You can't run it on both at the same time though, not with that one license. Not according to the EULA. Also there is no free upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 10. You can upgrade to the anniversary edition from a legally activated Windows 10 install, but that has nothing to do with the free upgrade offer. And as mentioned, Enterprise is excluded from the free upgrade offer. That falls under the software assurance agreement and its up to the IT specialist to do those upgrades.

Most likely a second hand PC sold by a company that went out of business, or were too lazy to remove the Enterprise edition. Enterprise licenses are not allowed to be resold so if it was resold, that Enterprise install is not legal. It's still licensed to the Company that originally owned it.
