Ok I'm losing my patience now .... I clicked on settings, (Start>settings) the blue window comes up and then vanishes. Nothing loads. I've been in there before. I know it USED to work. ..........

You will have to try the repair option ....after that, I don't know if you will be able to go back to 7

You would THINK that I'd listen to the majority of the people I know who tried 10 and had trouble with 10. But nope! I got tired of being bullied by 10 reminders so installed the crap.

Ok well I think I'll just do a clean reformat with my windows 7 disk. What are your thoughts?

I've upgraded two old HP computers from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro with no problems ....these computers were 9 years old. They run windows 10 very well ....But some folks do have problems. I think Windows 10 is much better than Windows 7. But ....if you want to go back to 7 ....your only choice might be a clean install back to 7

A windows 10 Repair would fix your existing Windows 10 now .....but not sure if you would still have the option to go back to 7 after you do the repair .....thou ....you might still be able too. I'm not 100% sure.
