    If chkdsk did run and complete, the next step would be to run in a Command Prompt (Admin):

    sfc /scannow

    and see if that completes successfully.

    I don't see a pic Old Mike.

    I've pasted sfc /scannow as Navy suggested. 8% complete.

    Ok you have 2 choices now, we can try a repair install .... Or we can try using Dism command to repair those corrupt files.
    Either way you will have to download the latest Windows 10 iso .....unless you already have a Current copy now.

    I will give you the link for the windows iso ....if you don't have it already....let me know.
    Need to download the iso from Tech Bench ....not from using the Media Creation Tool

    I'm just making sure we're repairing things to be able to do a system restore to 7. Are we? lol I don't want to make either one of us take the time to do things that doesn't have anything to do with not going back to 7.

    Ok then why not try it again right now then ......see if it works any better than the last time you tried ....let me know.
    see if Windows will take you back to windows 7
