Picture of what disk management...?... I'm doing the most perfect install onto a new drive so the disk has nothing to be managed before install.

This is a machine that is 'as if' it just got made in the factory and has a brand new SSD plugged in ready to have whatever the installation requires because there's nothing on it !! Nothing is plugged in except the power lead, 8GB of RAM, 250GB empty SSD.... Latest manufacturer BIOS with UEFI support enabled.... and finally the USB installer created with Rufus in Fat32 for GPT partition on UEFI supported machine.

It stops dead at 3.3 seconds at the Windows logo screen.... I've devoted probably 40 hours attempting every possible way of installing.

I've even tried invoking the install process from an explorer window in 8.1 on a spare drive with a copy of my system image (so i don't stuff up my day to day OS) and navigating to the 'sources' file within the ISO to execute the 'setup' file. This seems like it's going to work.... stuff happens that you expect to see when going thru an OS installation.... but as soon as it needs to do a restart it stops dead at the windows logo screen.... the indicator clockwise spinning white dots NEVER appear even waiting 8 hours on one occasion.... it is stuck behind a locked door.... officially frozen !!!

Only way then is to power off and power on again with installer removed so it will boot into the 8.1..., but of course the bootloader is now corrupt from the install attempt.... so boot to my Win PE recovery to fix bootloader... then when it finally gets back into 8.1 there'a a message from the MS 'Nanny' saying Win 10 could not be installed.... like I didn't know...

so this laptop..... as good as it is running Win 8.1 in dual boot with Ubuntu.... just won't allow me to install 10 TP.

Hopefully.... but I doubt it... the official release will work on here.... No one at MS wants to be bothered trying to source the bug that prevents the install on my machine (which more than meets all requirements as listed by MS) If this was happening to lots of people and the numbers met their threshold for attention it might get worked on.... I've seen several other posts around the web by Samsung owners having this exact install fail.... but there are not enough of us to cross the threshold for MS to devote time (which is money) to fixing it.

The only way is for me to fix it myself and to do that I need to discover how to make sure the install attempt is logged and where that log will be available to view in order to see exactly which instruction is halting the install at the windows logo screen.

If anyone can teach me how to do this it would be much appreciated.... the response I got from 'The Insider Program' forum to this log process question was.... "this question is beyond the scope of the Insider forum........... that really says it all about MS and the money they won't spend.... even the official Win 10 TP 'help' forum is not moderated by anyone clever enough to know how install logging is done and retrieved.

hopefully the guys at Ubuntu community can show me how to log the install attempt process by trying to install a dual boot Ubuntu/Win 10 TP from inside a Linux terminal.

This scenario sounds like one I experienced several years ago and indeed Disk Management becomes very important if your problem is similar to mine.
Scenario:
New 1TB HDD
Clean install
Install failed
Formatted the drive
Attempted new install
Install failed again
Discovered the install media (DVD) was corrupt
Obtained new media
Install failed
long story short.........
Formatting the drive did not wipe the Reserve partition (100MB)
I had attempted three installs and had three 100MB partitions on an otherwise clean drive.
A clean install was attempting to install to one of those partitions.
Removed all three of those partitions with AOMEI Partition Assistant (I posted a link previously)
Formatted drive
and installed successfully without incident

I took a quick look at the Speccy in your System specs - not sure when that was created, but hibernation is enabled. If you turn off Fast Start (not to be confused with Fast boot ) hibernation should have been disabled.

Try this method to see if that might be an issue:

They the following in an elevated Command Prompt (Run as Administrator...). There is no output, it just flips the switch.

powercfg /H off
cd \
dir /a hiber*.*

If there is a hiberfil.sys file, then hibernation is still enabled or ... it might not get removed until a restart.

Check your power plan to see what is defined for low and critical battery levels. They might still say hibernate, - change them to sleep.
Restart your machine.

There have been a few cases where the battery charge presents an issue. Speccy lists yours at 79% charge.
Try removing the battery and run on AC only when you attempt another install.

set your firmware to default values
After defaulting the firmware check that AHCI is selected.

Snmsung R.A.P.I.D. is enabled according to Speccy - I think this is similar to Fast Boot, you might try disabling that in BIOS as well (Samsung Magician?). From the quick scan I did, RAPID caches the SSD into RAM (1 GB) - how that would affect an install beats me.

BIOS with UEFI support? If that's like HP, then you want a BIOS (MBR ... BIOS or UEFI) support) install flash drive. NTFS should work for a BIOS flash, (I think Rufus denies BIOS and FAT32)

Do your research first and ask any questions. I'm not expert in these things, but another meber might come along with the knowledge to help out..

There are reports all over the net about similar issues with Win7 x64 installs. Nothing seems to correlate into an exact answer.

Check that your Boot drive is NOT GPT formatted and then simply switch off the UEFI option in the bios. Windows install will automatically try and install the correct (UEFI / NON UEFI) version automatically.

To install UEFI version of W10 you need a GPT formatted boot disk, for a NON UEFI version the boot disk (i.e the target disk where you will install Windows) must be MBR formatted. Check you have the correct combinations and DISABLE secure boot in any case.

Got stuck at windows logo when trying to boot into USB

Having the same problem here in a Samsung RV511. Seems the bios keeps the installer from booting up at all. Ive even tried removing the SSD drive to see if it was causing problems for me, but it was just the same freeze on the windows logo during boot.

Would installing windows 10 on another computer perhaps work? I really dont see any alternatives as of now

I have an RV511 using Phoenix tech BIOS 07PA.M014.20121127 that won't upgrade . Here is Samsung's response:

Please do try doing a Complete Restore prior trying to install Windows 10 again

Apparently,it is not the laptop that is blocking the Windows installation and the pre-installed Broadcom WLAN card that comes with the laptop and we need to refer you to Microsoft to provide a Windows 10 Driver for the Broadcom WLAN since Samsung is no longer making a new series of laptops and can only support up to Windows 8.1.

If in case that you choose to change the WLAN card on your laptop to another brand for example Atheros, we don't encourage you to do it yourself and please contact our authorised service centre below to obtain a quote for a chargeable repair

In other words, Samsung aren't doing anything, and by the looks of http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...=1438425120791, Microsoft isn't in a hurry to fix it either, having completely ignored the problem all through the development of Windows 10.

Therefore, I suspect that owners of affected Samsung models have some choices to make, depending upon how much WIFI is needed. Affected models hang at the Windows logo on first boot during the Windows 10 installation process.
1) Stick with the current OS, or
2) Remove the Broadcom WLAN adapter that appears to be the source of the problem to enable the Windows 10 upgrade to proceed, and either:
a) Don't replace it, losing WIFI capability, or
b) Replace it with another make of mini-PCIe half height WLAN card

I've ordered a replacement Realtek card to do option 2b. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok ive have found a work around. I opened my laptop removed the WIFI card and upgraded to windows 10 after all installs and activated shut down and put the wifi card back in. All working nice i had to edit drives to get the wifi card to work

Can u explain what u did With the drivers for others to do the same? I¨m installing Windows 10 now by removing the wifi card

You are a genius my man, i took out the wlan chip upgraded with no problems and turned off stuck the chip back in and i didn't even need to install it, it just worked thank you so much!!!!
