    Win7 x64. Upgrading to Win10
       #42

Just to be sure, as I own a Samsung RV711 (which I really like), this issue only occurs for machines w/ the Broadcom wifi device? Mine has an Atheros AR9285 card, which makes me think I may have dodged a bullet here. I just started to download the Win10 upgrade from 7 and had the bright idea to check and see if there are any compatibility issues BEFORE I start the update.

Yes, you should be fine with your Atheros. I had a Broadcom card and eventually had to replace it with a Atheros AR5B22. WiFi is fine, though I haven't managed to get Bluetooth working yet.

When trying to upgrade with my Broadcom card, I never got to the 'dangerous' part of copying files over - it failed before this. So I'd suggest giving it a go as it shouldn't trash your machine.

I replaced the Broadcom WLAN adapter with a Realtek one. Windows 10 installed without a hitch - well, I had to uninstall my & reinstall my antivirus, but that's another story. It has been working fine ever since.

    Hi Guys,

I have a solution for the samsung series 5 windows 10 installation problem.

I faced the same problem today with my friends Samsung 530U. the notebook came with win 7 home premium when it was purchased. last year it was upgraded to win 10 with the free upgrade. Now the hdd crashed and we had to install a new hdd. and win 10 won't install. same problem as all others were facing. i even thought of removing the wifi adaptor. but i found a work around for this. i connected the hard disk to another laptop and installed the win 10 os. then i connected the hdd to samsung notebook. And voila... the system was up and running windows 10. other drivers and software, i installed late.

Hope this helps other user ( if this solution was not found earlier)

Is anyone still using a Samsung laptop with Windows 10 on it? If so, which build?
