Build 10049 Will Download But Aborts Installation

I have build 10041 in different stages on three SSDs. Have had no problems installing updates including new builds in the past. Build 10049 downloads (100%), but installation always aborts - even on one SSD which has an absolutely pristine 10041 - installed with no problems from an iso - and not touched in any way since, except to backup image with Macrium Reflect from a USB to an Lacie USB external storage disk. Can anyone provide an answer to this problem? I've totally wasted many hours with this problem and am beyond frustrated.

I was aware of install.esd and I found one dated 3-14-15 on only one SSD which I assume must be the install.esd for 10041. How the devil do I get the install.esd for 10049?

    Look here
Notice please: the folder C:\RecoveryImage is the default location of Windows 10 TP install.esd file if you installed the upgrade. If you have moved the file in another location or you have downloaded the installation files but not upgraded yet or if the upgrade has failed, you'll might find the install.esd file in a hidden folder C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources.

Forgot to mention the latest message I got when install aborted on pristine 10041 was "• fbl_impressive 10049 Professional - Error 0xc1900107. Despite searching, I can find no workable answer for this error message concerning build 10049. I am going to try downloading again (absolute pain in the rear-end), and hopefully get a valid install.esd.
If by some chance I get an install.esd which I think is for 10049, I will try your kindly suggested esc to iso approach.

Your "good luck" apparently worked. I wiped an SSD, installed 10041 from iso (usb), IMMEDIATELY updated. First updates (Defender, audio, etc.) aborted, then Update (on it's own) downloaded and installed 10049, which seems to be OK. I'm not going to show "resolved" yet because this might not work for anyone else and I cannot explain what exactly transpired. Oh, and I received absolutely no messages of any kind, not even "Install".

I will leave this thread open for just a bit. Perhaps someone may be interested. Maybe can explain exactly WHAT happened. I would like to know for furture reference.

    Good Grief!
Did NOTHING to SSD upon which 10049 had installed, except disconnect the SATA 3 cable to avoid any possibility of contamination. When I connected again, it refused to boot and the ABMISMAL Win 10 recovery mechanisms would, of course, not work (they NEVER HAVE in any instant). Fortunately, I had immediately made a Macrium image backup and re-installing it works.
