    Windows 10 v10240

    Hi People,

I'm using Windows 10 Professional v10240 and I wonder why I didn't receive the upgrade to v1511 until today ?

Probably overload on Microsoft's servers. I'm now up to Version 1511 (Build 10586.164) which was released in Nov. 2015 but it's on the RTM/Released version, not the Windows Insider [or BETA/Test/TechPreview] version this question is posted in. The Insider version number is quite a bit larger at 14279 as shown on Insider Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14279 - Windows 10 Forums .

    Hi Berton,

I see, is there anyway to get myself to the latest Windows 10 insider build 14279 ? I'd like to upgrade my old v10240 at home first before deploying it company wide.

    Thanks.

In Settings, Updates and Recovery, Windows Update, go to Advanced Options and bottom half of the page is where you can get the Insider Preview updates. If your Win10 is the RTM you may not want to take a chance in changing to the test version. My test machine is on Win10 1511 Build 14267.1000 but is about 3 weeks old, starting to check for a newer version now.

Are you ready? How about a clean install? The updated form of the November 11 Threshold 2 update or 10586.73 now 10586.168 is available from two sources! The updated Media Creation Tool or the MS Tech Bench Program's download page. The difference being with the tool you get the larger "4 in 1" download for both Home and Pro editions in both 32bit and 64bit while at the Tech Bench site you choose either the 32bit or 64bit Dual edition download in ISO form.

You will need a larger 8gb flash drive however due to either going well over the typical 4gb usb key size. Windows 10 ISO Download - Windows 10 Forums

With the tool you can upgrade on the spot, see the media created, or save the "Windows.iso" download to a folder as well as simply go back after the upgrade or media is made up to select the folder to save the download to.
