Windows 10 Upgrade Reports Wrong Hardware

I haved moved my Windows 7 64bit install from a Dell Precision 380 (Pentium D and Nvidia 6600 LE) to a Dell Precision T3400 (Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66Ghz and Nvidia GT 610.

Windows 7 is updated for the new hardware with all drivers installed and all devices working.

The Windows 10 Upgrade Program says the CPU is not supported and the 6600 LE video card is not compatible. It is reporting the wrong hardware from the old pc, not the hardware it is currently installed on. How do I get the upgrade program to recheck the currently installed hardware?

I have seen numerous reports of people running Windows 10 on a Q6700 processor. If I need to add a new video card, I can do that.

    Thanks for any assistance!

    Hello TDRare,

I would bypass the Windows update route and do the upgrade manually following the tutorial below:
