    [QUOTE=OldMike65;593249]Well the is GREAT NEWS!!! Very happy for you!!! I save mine to my 2nd drive, its NOT my Main drive. I have 1 SSD that's my C drive and my Main drive, my WD is my 2nd drive. I also use 1 external drive too.
    Glad you solved your shutdown issue, strange that it happened thou. I hope you are at build 10586.122 which would make you up to date. Be aware some apps, do not get along with Windows 10 !!!! I have no idea what kind of apps or AV type programs you are installing or running, but some programs don't run well with Windows 10. Most do .....just a few can cause problems.

    Take care collieman Glad everything is running good for you.

    Thank you OldMike65 for your well wishes. My build is 10586.122 according to winver. I found it interesting on how you partitioned your C drive. That's where my confusion came in. You partitioned your drive (C) into four primaries. Then your second drive was D. I partition my drives as C (primary OS), then D,E F,G H logical etc. Wondering if there is any advantage to doing it like you do. BTW. Computer is still working well. I wish I knew what I did to fix it. I reinstalled about six times before it took.

    @collieman
    Ahh I did not partition my SSD into 4 primaries. My C drive only has ONE Primary which is C:\ Those other partitions Windows makes when it does a Clean install, properly. I deleted everything on the SSD drive, then clean installed Windows, and during the install Windows make those partitions during the clean install. My D drive is a separate Hard drive, not an SSD drive, its a spinner ....(mechanical) that only needs 1 partition, as its not a boot drive. Very surprised you don't know this actually. You have to have at least 2 of those same partitions, or your Windows wouldn't boot.
    But....as long as your computer is running good, then your all set. That's all that matters in the end. :)

    Please turn off Fast Startup, give it a few real shutdowns/startups (not restarts) and everything should be fine.

    To understand what this is/does (it was first introduced in Windows 8):
    “Fast Startup (aka: hybrid boot or hybrid Shutdown) is a new feature in Windows 8 to help your PC start up faster after shutting down. When turned on, Windows 8 does this by using a hybrid shutdown (a partial hibernate) method that saves only the kernel session and device drivers (system information) to the hibernate (hiberfil.sys) file on disk instead of closing it when you shut down your PC. This also makes the hiberfil.sys file to be much smaller than what hibernate would use (often 4GB or more). When you start your PC again, Windows 8 uses that saved system information to resume your system instead of having to do a cold boot to fully restart it. Using this technique with boot gives a significant advantage for boot times, since reading the hiberfile in and reinitializing drivers is much faster on most systems (30-70% faster on most systems tested). If you have a motherboard with UEFI, then fast startup will be even faster.”

    Great to hear!
