Upgrade or Clean install?

No problem, I just wasn't sure if I missed something. As I mentioned I looked back at my specs after I read the thread and saw that I still listed my OSP as Win10 when it actually it was Win7 both 64 bit but I thought that might have caused some confusion so I updated that to Win7. I will follow the link and the old saying "Nothing ventured nothing gained." Hopefully it will go smoothly but I have a downloaded disc to do a clean install if needed. Thanks

Forgive my ignorance, but I just spotted I have a program called Windows Anytime Upgrade. In its Properties I see a 'Target location' of 'system32'. Should that not be showing 'system64' if my system is indeed a Home Premium 64bit system, which it is. Any chance this is what is making Windows 10 think I have a 32bit system?

There were two discs in the box when I loaded Windows 7 Home about 18 months ago
- a 32 disc and a 64 disc.

I am still on Windows 7 and have done nothing further yet to try a second time to implement the free upgrade to Windows 10.

Assuming for unknown reason you do end up with a 32-bit version.
If you still want a 64-bit version, you will have to do a Clean Install.

No. system32 has nothing to do with your issue.
Not to be confused by it's name "system32"

If you want to try again, use the Clean Install tutorial.
Since you had Win 10 installed before, activation will be automatic.
