    Win 10 really?

Have a Packard Bell laptop with Win 8.1. Recently gave in to the constant reminders to upgrade to Win 10. I am not very computer savvy but followed the idiots guide and presided over the magical upgrade. I am now left with a laptop that opens with the PB logo then turns of/on then PB logo and so on. Have just now come of the phone with MS technical help on its freephone only to be told I would have to buy a software tool that can solve this problem of my own making for downloadind Win 10 on to a laptop that had software on it that did not complete the download correctly........Win 8.1 !!!!!!!. Does anyone have a solution apart from binning my laptop.

    kind regards

If its a laptop itll have a recovery partition , you could boot into that and reinstall win 8.1

No need to bin laptop, even if you have deleted recovery partition or cannot access it.

Fortunately windows 8.1 is quite easy to reinstall from scratch by creating an 8.1 installation drive (link below) if you have your windows 8 key (do not even need it if pc came with windows 8.1 preinstalled).

You just create a bootable usb drive or dvd using this link, and boot from it to reinstall windows 8.1.

You should be able to download Windows 10 and perform a clean install using your Windows 8.1 key.
