New Build with new and old parts, best way to install...
Hey guys,
I am rebuilding my systems, going to take apart the two I have now and build a new one with new parts as well as old parts from the two systems, its mostly going to be new parts.
The system specs I have in this forum is of the PC that I use to capture/edit/author video and burn to DVD/Blu Ray. My other PC specs is are at sevenforums but is almost identical to this one, except that its a little faster running at 3.30 ghz and has a 120 GB SSD, whereas the tenforum PC has a WD 3000HLFS as boot drive.
I've purchased the following, for new build:
Fractal Design DEFINE R5 case
ASRock Gaming Fatal1ty 990FX Killer AM3+/AM3 AMD 990FX + AMD SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W FD6300WMHKBOX Desktop Processor
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL
XFX Radeon R9 390 DirectX 12 R9-390P-8256 8GB 512-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Double Dissipation XXX OC Video Card
CORSAIR RMx RM1000X 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply
I was going to get the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 but I waited too long and it sold out so grabbed the XFX since practically same card. Also almost got the 8 core 3.5 GHz CPU but didnt, figured the 6 core 3.5 would be enough, and if you notice didnt get a HD, though was looking at SSDs of 256gb, though I could use the SSD from one of the PCs or even the 10k WD.
I want to be able to use both machines at one time lol, not have to change screens, etc. when wanting to work on one. I hope this build to be last for a few more years, I also need it to be accessible from my laptop, though that shouldnt be much problems as I do that often now.
Then after selling the parts from other PCs I can buy a surface pro lol
Now to install 10, since the two PCs are upgrades, which one should I be using to install on the new build? The SSD on the 3.30 ghz is a bit older and needs a clean install.
Hmm just checked and NO I dont even have SSD drives in either PC lol, thought I did, seems I have the WD 3000HLFS in both PCs
Soooo wonder if I should plop and get an SSD.....think I might.
ok So back to which 10 install do I use, since changing MBs will I have to call MS?
Sorry for long post, more info the better
