    Installing upgrades

.I keep receiving advice of an upgrade for Java on a large window that appears on the right side of the screen. It simply says to "click here" to proceed. I do that but the statement disappears. How do I start with the upgrade? Or do I really need Java? I didn't request it it simply appeared recently.

Windows 10 was offered to me free on line several years ago and I can't find details of its version number.

I will be grateful to receive help.

The version is: 20Hz(OS Build 19042.746

I would just avoid Java all together.
IF there is a program on your comp that needs it, you'll find out and can easily update it then.

Add some extensions to your browser, it may just be a pop up.
