Installing Windows 10 Pro from USB Stick

    Hi,

So, I can't find anything online about this, and I hope someone here can help!

I'm building my own PC from scratch, and I want to install Windows 10 Pro, I bought the key and everything seemed OK.

When I installed the Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website, I run it and select the option for another PC. When I go to the dropdown box, however, there is only the options for Windows 10, and Windows 10 N. There is no option for Windows 10 pro. So I looked around online and found nothing. I did find that it would install Home instead of Pro, and that the key I have may not work to activate it, and upgrade to Pro.

I just want to know a way to get Pro, and for it to work properly with the key I have, using what seems to be the weird version of the Media Creation Tool I have.

Any suggestions are much appreciated! :)

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi, first, this may help:
Windows 10 ISO Download - Windows 10 Forums

Second, can you definitively confirm you purchased a key for Win 10 Pro?
    I see a price of $119.99.

    Thanks!

Windows 10 is the correct choice. You may need to be on a PC with a PRO version of windows when you do the download.

I believe that the most recent version of the Media Creation Tool (for build 10586) gives you an installer that installs both Home and Pro.

(I did it by download the TechBench ISO instead, but I think they're the same.)

If that is what you have, you'll get the choice as to which version you're installing during the installation.

(I think. I just ran it as an upgrade on 3 machines, 2 Pro 1 Home, and it automatically selected the matching version.)

The current Media Creation Tool from the "Download Tool Now" button on this webpage will download a combined Home and Pro version:
    Windows 10

So, if you select both 32 and 64 bit Windows 10 you will get a 4 in 1 installation USB - 32bit and 64bit each of Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.

If you boot from the USB, it will always ask you if you want to install 32bit or 64bit (if you downloaded both). Then if it does not find a product key stored in the bios and you skip entering a product key it will then ask you if you want to install Home or Pro.
