Boot Order Issue
I have an ASUS Maximus VIII Hero motherboard in my build that I have set the boot order so as to boot first from the Blu-Ray ROM Drive then the "Windows Download Manager" which is connected to the drive that is the C: Drive in the machine, then the actual C: Drive is listed as the third in the order of boot priority. My issue is when the boot order is set to boot from the Blu-Ray drive first and there is no disc in the drive, the computer should then attempt to boot from the "Windows Download Manager" but instead gives the message to insert a bootable piece of media in the computer and won't Boot into Windows 10. I'm running into this issue when restoring an image with Acronis True Image. I have to set the boot order so as to first boot from the Blu-Ray Drive so the program will load, then restore the image (which works fine), but then have to go back in the BIOS and change the boot order in order for Windows to boot. This is my first build with an ASUS motherboard (my previous builds going back to 2002 were all with Intel boards) and in all the previous Intel boards I've used, I've never had this problem, if there was no disc in the Blu-Ray Drive, it would automatically just boot into Windows. Is there a setting on this motherboard that I'm missing somewhere or is this a "new reality" that I'll have to face going forward when I restore an Image, meaning am I gonna have to keep changing the boot order repeatedly any time I restore an image???
