I have just download Windows 10 from both the Media Creation Tool (Windows 10 Pro x64) and Techbench (Windows 10 Home/Pro x64) and both ISOs are indeed build 10240. In addition to this craziness, I have seen one reported case that WU is sending down build 10240 when upgrading a laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Go figure.

Wow. Weird indeed. I had been planning to download iso to push my wife's laptop as she's not getting it through WU. Think I'll just brew on this a while longer until the waters clear slightly - things seem rather turbid ATM.

You are absolutely right! My apologies.
I am clean installing, right now, with the 10586.0 iso we scooped up earlier this week to see if it installs properly.

At least you Americans get the warning note at the end of the page.
We, the Canadians, get swat !
Any unsuspecting Canadians will get a big shock that, after 2 to 3 hours of downloading and installing, all they get is the one they already have.

The tool I downloaded last week was v 10.0.10586.0, signature dated 30 Oct 15. I can't get the resulting ISO to install on my laptop. The version offered today is v 10.0.10240.16480, signature dated 20 Aug 15.

Is this a mistake with the web site or has the previous version been pulled since so many people (like me) couldn't upgrade using last week's release?

I can hear the Microsoft folks now ''ooops'' !!

Makes you wonder about threshold 2, just how much it was actually tested, on the plus side though it's better they pull it and get it right before releasing it again.

Lots of people had a disastrous upgrade when using WU, I had to download the TH2 ISO myself after many failed updates. But pulling the ISO seems to indicate there are deeper problems.

Mine installed fine Edwin, from the ISO that is, the WU did not work for me just kept 'restoring the previous version''
Just a word of cation, if they have pulled the TH2 ISO, that could be an indication of more serious problems with the new build, may be worth hanging on at least until you know why it was pulled.

After all the problems I've had as discussed in https://www.tenforums.com/installatio...what-next.html, I'm going to wait a few weeks for all these problems to be ironed out before trying the upgrade again.
