Good deal!
Hi, I just want to add what I prefer to use. I use Ccleaner to remove windows.old.
Ccleaner is a free program
In Ccleaner, on the left side, under Advanced section, there is "Old Windows Installation", check that box and click Analyze, then click Run Cleaner.
That will remove windows.old.
Adding: I think you can reinstall CPUZ. I had my Speccy removed after the install. Reinstall brought it back.
I did it using an elevated cmd prompt...same as removing WS and BT files.
takeown /F C:\Windows.old\* /R /A
icacls C:\Windows.old\*.* /T /grant administrators:F
rmdir /S /Q C:\Windows.old\
So I have tried using the Disk Cleanup feature and it removed the majority of the windows.old file, however the file is still there on my C drive. I would like to get rid of the file if possible, any help is greatly appreciated!
Windows.old Folder - Delete in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
This thread had a lot of helpful information, however I still couldn't resolve my issue with my windows.old file not deleting. I just wanted to share this thread in case other people were also having difficulties trying to delete their windows.old file.
My main issue is that the system thinks the folder is in use and won't allow me to delete it. The files in use are "intcdaud.sys"
