    error code 0x60B52556 after upgrade

I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 from pro 7. When going online I get this message....
    explorer. exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x60B52556 referenced memory at 0x60B52556. The memory could not be written. Click ok to terminate the program.

If I close with the "x" I can continue. But when I close Firefox I get a black screen and have to restart. Anytime I use a program it does this. I really have no idea what to do. Can anyone help me!

    Thanks!

Have you run trouble shooter at all
Also this link may help you
    Fix PC Errors

Also sfc /scannow can sort out a lot of errors
if you want to run that and don't know how to post back and we will post exactly what steps you have to follow

    deeflutterby,
You said "I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 from pro 7".
I am not sure whether you did manage to upgrade to Windows 10 or not.
Assuming that you did upgrade to Windows 10. Did you have this problem right away or did this happen only recently ?
In other words, was there a time Windows 10 was working fine and no error message ?
If there was time you did not have this error message, my suggestion is to run the Reset option.

Click Start button > left side, select settings > select Update and Security > left side, select Recovery > right side, under Reset this PC, click the "Get started" button.

Thanks for your help. I did get Windows 10 to install and the problem happened right away. So I did a restore back to 7. Tried it again later and got the same message. I will try the link you provided and see if that helps. I will let you know if that works.
    Thanks again!

I installed Windows 10 again and get the same message. Ran Fix PC Errors, but there is a charge.
So how do I do this......
"Also sfc /scannow can sort out a lot of errors
if you want to run that and don't know how to post back and we will post exactly what steps you have to follow"

Or do I just need to put out the money to fix it?
    Thanks!

If you want to run sfc, here is how...............

Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......
    sfc /scannow

    > press Enter.
    It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
    1. No integrity violation.
    2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
    3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If the report is #1, your solution lies elsewhere.
If the report is #2, check if your problems have been resolved.
If the report is #3, use this method................
In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command...........

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    > press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

Thanks billy268....I tried this but it didn't work either! I give up! After it ran the scan it said..."Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."

So I restored back to Windows 7 for now. Thanks for all the
    help.

Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise.
For a free upgrade to Windows 10, the offer is valid until July 29th, 2016.

Mean while, make sure you do this immediately.........................
Set your Windows Update to Manual instead of Automatic.
Each time there are updates available, look over the list. Make sure you don't download Windows 10 again.

That said, words have it that come next year, Windows 10 download is going to be changed to Recommended Update, and that it can be downloaded to your computer without your consent.
The detail is not exactly clear.
I am sure before that comes along, someone will have a method to block that. But, that's another topic.

    excerpt ...................
    http://blogs.windows.com/windowsexpe...to-windows-10/
Windows 10 and Windows UpdateWe will soon be publishing Windows 10 as an “Optional Update” in Windows Update for all Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 customers. Windows Update is the trusted, logical location for our most important updates, and adding Windows 10 here is another way we will make it easy for you to find your upgrade.
Early next year, we expect to be re-categorizing Windows 10 as a “Recommended Update”. Depending upon your Windows Update settings, this may cause the upgrade process to automatically initiate on your device. Before the upgrade changes the OS of your device, you will be clearly prompted to choose whether or not to continue. And of course, if you choose to upgrade (our recommendation!), then you will have 31 days to roll back to your previous Windows version if you don’t love it.
