    Build 9860 ISO

My prefered pc refuses to upgrade to build 9860 so I tried, sucessfully to upgrade the second one. Before I had configured restore it crashed big time. I have removed the hdd and formatted it, I won't bother to put it on that machine again. I was wondering whether the ISO available from Microsoft is still the original or the new 9860?

I forgot to mention that the error code that came up when the pc refused to take build 9860 was "Failed to install the new preview builds 0x8007000D".

How are you trying to install the upgrade if it failed to upgrade from Settings? What is the ISO source? Did you prepare it as a bootable installer and run a Custom install deleting all partitions during the process, or did you try to run it as an in-place Upgrade?

I tried to run it as an in-place upgrade on the preferred pc, that's when I got the error code. I will now attempt to do the same on the third pc that has build 9841 on it.

You can create a ISO on the one computer that did update successfully then use it on the other to upgrade with. Don't even need to burn a DVD or create a install flash drive.

ESD to ISO - Create Bootable ISO from Windows 10 ESD File

Just mount the ISO on the machine to be updated then run Setup.exe from the mounted image. That's how I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 TP initially, worked great.

The new build is running on the second pc with no problems, but the preferred machine fails to upgrade after about 30 seconds trying. I would delete the downloaded file if I could find it and download a fresh one. It must be a huge upgrade judging from the time it took to download.

My preferred machine suddenly accepts and runs the 9860 build, I will keep it on the second pc as well. I have no clues as to why it now cooperates.
