What updates are required to upgrade Win 7 to 10

Does anyone have a list of the required updates to upgrade Windows 7 SP1 to Windows 10?
    Does Microsoft?

I think you need none. Just download the Media Creation Tool and go ahead! This tool will even work on Windows 7 without Service Pack 1.

For this little flag icon on the taskbar this will be different. If you want to use that one, I would simply install all available updates.

I also just do the updates until only the Large one remains, somewhere between 2GB and 3GB, doing one now that is 2086MB, about 500MB smaller than the one I did yesterday. Don't know why the difference. One of the updates was KB3035583 but there was a second one that goes with it but can't recall it just now.

That doesn't work as I've already tried it. SP1 with no additional updates failed the upgrade from a flash drive created from a ISO i created using MCT and Rufus.. I didn't write down the error unfortunately. If I get a chance I'll try it again and see if I can document it better.

To fix it so I could upgrade I installed all Windows 7 updates which took hours so I'd like to i9nstall just the ones needed.

I was able to speed up the whole upgrade process by diusconnecting from the internet so thye Windows 10 installer could not look for or download any updates. That way the whole upgrade process took 45 minutes to an hour. I then rebooted, connected to the internet and activated. Worked fine.

Just because it didn't work for you does not mean that it doesn't work for anyone. It can work because I have done it. Bare Windows 7 Pro clean install with no updates, no SP1, upgraded to Windows 10 Pro just fine on my 6 year old home built desktop.

I have also done it without any updates or drivers installed on Win7. Only difference to NavyLCDR was that I had to disconnect the internet during the Win10 upgrade process otherwise install would halt.

Edit: Should add that it was on a P35 Gigabyte board with a Q6600

I should have mentioned the Upgrade I'm doing now is my 9th since Win10 was officially released. Have had only one issue and that was a Bluetooth driver for a Dell Notebook but Dell does have updated drives for some models, probably those of the last couple of years or so, mine was new back in March 2014.

I'd like to avoid that update check if possible as it can sometimes take quite awhile. I'll play with it some more and see what happens.
