I must have missed that. Thank you. It's getting somewhat late here, so I'm probably going to start this pretty soon. I'll tell you guys how it went tomorrow. Thanks so much for the help.
It still crashed at that same point. I'm pretty sure I did everything you had originally told me. Does that mean this is because of CCC? I tried to uninstall CCC but couldn't find an uninstall wizard for just that, everything wanted to remove my drivers and all sorts of stuff. What should I do now?
Edit: I was able to uninstall CCC without getting rid of my drivers. Is there anything else I should do before trying again at the installation?
Also, is there a reason for me to be using the ISO and not windows update to download and install it?
I would wait for simrick's answer, but the ISO route would probably be a little quicker and less chance of any corruption with installing. You would also have the ISO in case you would want to fresh install again. I would go ahead and mount it on a DVD or USB stick if possible. You can still do the in-house C: drive install as well too.
Good luck to you.
Edit: To be sure > You must upgrade first though so it activates. Then you can fresh install ad infinitum after that.
Okay, good. People had been posting that the CCC issue had been resolved, but perhaps it is not in all cases.
Upgrades that fail early on are usually an indication of driver issues; this CCC had been a problem for quite some time, and so that's why I flagged it.
Did you get the all clear from sfc /scannow? This is an important step.
I agree with @HippsieGypsie; the ISO-upgrade would probably be the best route. If it asks for a key, just select "skip" (it may do this a few times). [Note: If you do not have the skip option, it's because you have the wrong type of ISO - either the wrong architecture or the wrong version, home vs. pro.] Make sure you select "keep files and apps" or "keep files", whichever you prefer.
If you still have an issue after removing CCC, we'll probably need to start evaluating your drivers and installed programs.
@HippsieGypsie, I will be unavailable now for a few hours. If you're around, I would very much appreciate it if you could keep an eye on this thread. Thanks.

I definitely chose the right ISO.
When I did the scannow yesterday, it returned no issues. I'll do it again just to be safe.

Nope, no integrity violations.
So then, nothing else really to try before I try the installation again?
