Motherboard Drivers on a new Windows 10 Installation

    Hi all,

Have been struggling a bit with getting an error free clean install. Going to be trying again tonight.......

One thing I am not 100% sure of on the MOTHERBOARD drivers - can I get away by just installing the current Intel Chipset Driver? My Device Manager shows no issues after installing just this driver. I presume that Windows 10 is installing all the other necessary drivers. Motherboard is a Asus ROG Hero Maximus VI.

Just want to make sure that I am not missing something important that might affect the PC's performance.

    Thanks!

Your motherboard has Win10 drivers -- see the website page: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MA...Desk_Download/

I've always installed the Mobo drivers just after an OS installation -- but, it's up to you.

I did check here first (ASUS website) but on trying to install the IME driver that I pulled of the ASUS website (your link above), it came up with a message that the IME driver that I was trying to install was older than the one already on the system. That got me confused... so I opted to leave the one that Windows installed automatically.

Understands, that's why you should only install newer drivers from the ASUS downloads.
