Windows 8 or Windows 10 is in the recovery drive

My desktop has Windows 8 pre-installed, it is upgraded to 8.1 and then 10.

The pc has a Windows 8 recovery partition hidden.

If I make a recovery drive using the method as shown in the picture, the version of Windows in the recovery drive is 8 or 10?

10, make sure you the the box to backup system files to the recovery drive. If you have the orig recovery partition from the OEM, like in attached image, that is your orig factory 8 install before your 8.1 upgrade.

I have a laptop, the HD has been completely cleared, the current OS is Windows 10, when I tried to make a recovery drive the following message appeared.
Windows 8 or Windows 10 is in the recovery drive-file.png
My desktop, the current OS is also Windows 10, but it has hidden partition of Windows 8, I can make a recovery drive without difficulty.

I am wondering the recovery driver I made contains a copy of the hidden recovery partition of Windows 8 or a copy of the current OS and installed software.

I can find the answer my making a recovery, but it is a time-consuming process.

The hidden partition contains the bootable recovery environment for troubleshooting. Since your desktop had it, the recovery drive could use the files. If you cleared this from your laptop to do a clean install of 10, you probably deleted it. You may be able to download the media creation tool, get a fresh copy of the Windows 10 ISO, copy the files to your C: drive and use the command prompts in Fix #1 this article - Fix: on Windows 8.1

This may copy the RE but it may be specific to your laptop model. I created the repair disk (to get to Advanced Startup) for two diff Win10 laptops and they are different from each other which leads me to believe some files differ in the RE since they are not interchangeable. If you prev copied the recovery partition, you may be able to copy that back to another recovery partition, say D:. Hopefully, some one who has done this before can chime in.
