Recovery Partition (or lack of it) problem
Another day, another system. The one I asked about the other day where I deleted the Recovery Partition I fixed by running an in-place install. This one hasn't created the partition
History - upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate, Start Button not working, in fact no COM+ applications work at all. Did a System Reset (keep data, reinstall all applications). Now there's an un-allocated area of 449MB at the back of the installation partition, and no reserved recovery partition.
C:\WINDOWS\system32>reagentc /info
Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration
Information:
Windows RE status: Enabled
Windows RE location: \\?\GLOBALROOT\device\harddisk0\partition2\Recovery\WindowsRE
Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: fa44c611-473a-11e5-94d6-9d19efb7da27
Recovery image location:
Recovery image index: 0
Custom image location:
Custom image index: 0
REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.
Which to me says it thinks the recovery partition is there (???)
Layout on MBR disk is
System reserved - 102MB
Wiindows Install - 418GB
Unallocated 449MB
Now how to fix this?
Thanks
Dave
