I took the OP that he thought he was going to have to pay for it after the year was up however I could be wrong in my assumption.
Please.. read the entire post.. that was a reply to another question. Not the OP. Post #2 was my reply to the OP and not that post,.
The question in the OP was in essence .. is the upgrade going to be the same as the retail and the answer is YES.. I said that in post #2.. any other post after did not address that question.,
Yes, you answered this question, which is technically incorrect as it would be based on the circumstance stated by LCDR:
Now if the user missed this opportunity and decided to upgrade the computer from 7/8/8.1 after the free year is up, then, yes, that user needs to buy a full license retail key.
Sure do get tired of the same people rehashing the same question over and over. You tend to take over a thread and make it useless to the OP and anyone else searching and looking for answers.
Sinmply point anyone with this kind of question to Mystere's post: Frequently Asked Questions about the Windows 10 Free upgrade
That should answer pretty much any question.
Edit: Yes, I know I could just not continue to read threads like this but that is not my point.
Edit#2: If Mystere's post is not good enough, y'all get together and come up with one that satisfies all of you then have it pinned.
Hopefully it will get you and the others who regularly beat this topic to death to let it go.
Probably not but I thought it was worth a try.
