If I like Windows 9 I have the idea to go dual boot 7 and 9 on separate drives on my main rig :)

That's an ideal way to go. And an even better idea is to have a separate drive for data storage. So even if both of your OSes went kaput , your data is safe in an isolated drive.

    Nice set up!
Thanks! works for me when I want to install another OS on another SSD. I try not to dual boot on the same hard drive as much as possible. I just pull all the other hard drive trays out or switch the power off. My 4 drives also have an individual power switch in the back.

Wow,,, Now that I got my system set up with a new HDD what to do??
Well,,, I'll do the initial test in a VM just to do a quick tire kick then I'll dual boot it in
a partition that I'll set up today. I think around 50GB should be more than enough for testing.

When Win9 comes out for sale.. :hmm:. I want a new HDD, WD 500GB Black and use the current one for backup.
    Yup.. that should work.

    Jeff :)

If you haven't bought the hard drive yet, consider this one (dual 120GB SSD+ 1TB HDD):

I like the look of that.

Look how cheap these SSDs are. They are not top of the line but even the cheapest ones are 10x faster than 7200rpm spinner drives. This is a cheap, safe and faster solution to dual booting Win 9 preview. I think I am gonna get another one.
