W10 "upgrade" is just that, an upgrade from a qualifying OS to W10. This is not a "two for the price of one" situation, if you use Win7 you cannot upgrade/use W10 on the Win7 license at the same time. It's either one or the other, the qualifying OS license is only for that OS or W10 by itself, not both at the same time.
There may be ways around that but that's not how this "free upgrade" is designed, right now I'm still on the insider program and am dual booting 7 and 10. That, and purchasing another license for a qualifying OS or W10 is the only legitimate way to have both on the same computer.
Pull the plug to your network , then restart your machine and then delete update KB3035583. Then restart again. Unless you want to go through with the upgrade.
To image get a good sized USB HDD
Navigate to control panel/system and security/file history
Select "create a system image"
To restore image, you boot into Windows Install disk, or create system recovery drive (you will be prompted to create it), choose repair option, then "restore from system image"
The created image is what you have now... a complete mirrored PC image of your hard drive and everything on it
For permanent installations/use that is true. However there is a free evaluation period allowed and legal.

There has been much discussion on tenforums about that very issue (dual booting after RTM) Please read this topic https://www.tenforums.com/general-dis...release-2.html I wouldn't tell anybody what they can or cannot do, just some additional information for you to consider.
The post below is a quote from Slartybart that explains it about as best as it can be at this time, note the fact that another partition is considered a device, and the EULA statesThe device description in the EULA supports that because it defines a separate partition is a device. No matter how you slice it, you cannot run the licensed OS (original & upgraded license) on two devices at the same time.
Looks like dual booting is finechat with MS online (Contact support app) and he asked that question "Can I dual boot the original OS and the upgraded Win10?", the agent said yes but one of the OSes might require phone activation.
I want to install Win10 ONLY in my E:\ drive. Can I?
No offense, but no one is gonna hold your hand on this. The info you need has been provided
