Win 10 install fails error code 80070003
I think this may be due to the Win 8 installation which was done as an upgrade from win7 pro. I think the bootmgr/bcd is on the wrong drive. There isn't a system reserved partition on my C: drive but there is an OEM partition, an EFI system partition and a recovery partition.
I tried using easybcd to move the boot files into a system partition that I created on C: but it was unsuccessful because the partition I created exceeded the allowed 4 partitions and so it was created as a logical drive.
I think I need to clean the drive completely, though I don't know yet how I can remove the system partitions listed above. Assuming I can I will then do a clean install of Win 8.1 with only the clean drive installed and upgrade to Win 10. To avoid re-installing all my software could I restore the image I made over the clean Win 8.1 and then try upgrading to 10?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
