    Windows update stuck, can I force W10?


    I have been trying to bring W8.1 up to date so the W10 update can install the "Get Windows 10" icon and ultimately upgrade to W10. All that happens it the checking for updates green bar keeps going for days. Can I just manually update to W10, or will there be a problem since I wouldn't have brought 8.1 up to date first?

    Is your 8.1 activated, if so ? I don't see why you can't get upgrade from Microsoft site which I believe is better than the MS update site
