    Unfortunately there wasn't any other solution that is why they gave me a win 10 key. I did ask them what the problem was but they didn't know the answer. Your best shot is to contact them via live chat and let them remotely try it. It is a pain though since I was handled by at least 10 different people.

    So has there been any resolution to this besides getting a new key from Microsoft? I am experiencing the same issue as others. There is no option for turning off secure boot and I only have ACHI and compatibility, I have tried to upgrade several times, all result in the 0xc000000f error. I have a Lenovo L420. A clean install works perfectly fine but as others have said this causes Win 10 to stays inactivated. I am able to get all the way through the first 2 steps where the computer restarts and about 60% way through copying, aprox 20% overall, at the installation screen the laptop will restart and I get the message 0xc000000f, A required device isn't connected or cannot be accessed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Lenovo L420, clean 7 install ---> 10 upgrade
    So, with the release of Insider Build 10565 there has been a major change. You can now clean install W10 and use your "qualifying operating system key" to activate. :)
