OK, I got it working tonight!

What I did different was after I downloaded the update, the Windows 10 blue box came up and has a button that says "continue" (or something like that). I dragged that blue box out of the way and clicked the restart button on the regular windows update box. The screen came up showing the Windows 10 app was keeping me from shutting down. I let the laptop work that out and from there on the Windows 10 loaded correctly.

Please let me know if this works for you.

When you're loading the software, use the normal Windows Upadate "Restart" button instead of using the Continue or Restart button that comes up on the blue Windows 10 box.

ok, you used the windows update am i correct? Because i used the Media Creation Tool and not the windows update....so i will try that....but according to a lot of other people this problem is because of the excessive heat by the computer...so i will try removing my battery and leaving the charger plugged in and put my laptop in blasting AC so it will remain cool and ill let you all know what happens...

    I fixed it guys

hi guys Josiah here, i finally got windows 10 to install properly, i think it was mostly the heat....but lemme tell you how i did it..

Firstly, go to the battery icon in your taskbar, and press more power options..then go to your current battery profile (mines was balanced) and press change plan settings, then go to change advanced settings...now find processor power management..under that go to system cooling policy and change both of them to passive hit apply and ok and close those off.

Secondly, run the windows 10 setup, but just before u do that, remove your battery and i placed two books under my laptop for leverage....and for extra cooling i put two fans on high speed directly at the vents and made sure that the laptop was cool at all times......then i ran the windows 10 setup...

Thirdly, i let it run by itself and didnt interfere with it until prompted to press accept or whatever the case may be...
then it installed by itself, i currently have windows 10 pro and it works great....

Hope it works for you guys,
    Cheers Mates..

    Kudos to josiah

Thanks a lot josiah , mine was same problem as yours . Researched everywhere , downloaded set up file many times and every time laptop turns off suddenly . My laptop also overheated while switching off and i thought that it might be a driver problem and heat wont be a big issue . I exactly followed your instructions and put my laptop under an airconditioner while installation , at last finally got windows 10 . Thank you once again

    Hey Guys,
i have a lenovo e425 laptop that recently received the windows 10 upgrade from microsoft. i am currently running windows 8.1 Pro and when i started the upgrade to windows 10, everytime it reaches the 30% part where it finishes the copying files part, and it restarts, my computer shuts down completely like *poof*
When I put my computer back on, and it says attempting to recover installation, it shuts down AGAIN like *poof* Then when I restart it again, it just goes back to "restoring previous windows" and it restarts then my computer shuts off again like *poof* Then when i put it back on, it comes on normally, and says failed to install windows 10.

    Help Anyone!
    Thank You

Step 1. Charge laptop to full

Step 2. Unplug all usb ports "printer, mouse, speakers........their should be 0 usb ports used". Also unplug power cord!!

Step 3. Blow all fans/vents dust free best as u can.

Step 4. Install Windows 10 as normally.

Step 5. Your laptop will shut off again.

Step 6. When laptop is shut off remove battery and press power key down for 15 seconds.

    Step 7. Replace battery.

Step 8. Reinstall power cord as well. Power back on laptop (don't press anything).

Step 9. You should see a flash saying trying to reinstall where Windows left off.

Step 10. Enjoy!!! Also if this works I just ask you jam my song and subscribe to my YouTube if u feel the need to after!!! (SIMPLE - Keep On The Lights (Comp. Tony Fadd) - YouTube).
