Windows 10 Upgrade C1900101-20017 Error
So I've been trying to update my PC to Windows 10 and keep getting this error!!!
First I'll give you specifics about my PC.
Alienware Aurora R4, came with an AMD R9270 GPU and I changed to a GTX 980. It came with one HardDrive which I replaced with an SSD and moved OS to SSD and important programs, but all files and other programs are stored on the old drive which is now E. I also have a B drive for expansion (videos etc.) i7 processor. 16GB RAM.
So I tried the Windows 10 upgrade via Windows Update. It downloads fine, PC says configuring for Windows 10 update, then reboots back to Windows 8.1 and gives me error C1900101-20017. Tried again multiple times and got same error.
Then I tried with Media Creation tool. I tried where it installs onto PC without USB or DVD and it got stuck at 37% then just said Installation failed, with no errors or anything. Tried again and same thing.
So then I try the upgrade using a USB. Goes through to the thing where it asks me for key. Press skip. Choose to upgrade, then PC gives me the same error as before but with 0x infornt of it. It said:
We couldn't install Windows 10
We've set your PC back to the way it was just before you started installing Windows 10.
0xC1900101 - 0x20017
The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation
So I've tried all the usual stuff (unplug everything, turn off secure boot, disable services, troubleshooting, fixit, delete SoftwareDistribution etc.) so any help would be SO MUCH APPRECIATED! THANK YOU GUYS!!!
