I just installed new one over old one, no ill effects. Ends up as 15.11.1

You are right, i even would say we are living in a kind of beta "world" almost anything is roughly in progress.

I went back to 15.10 beta. Pre crimson. My graphics card fan were running all the time. I'll wait for a couple more releases.

Have you ever tried Afterburner? it's an MSI graphic card management SW it's great recommended, give it a try.
