Not sure if it's the new driver or the new version of Windows, but I'm getting random lockups. Gonna try an older driver and see if they still occur.

My games now crash straight to the desktop now. GTA V, MGS V, Just Cause 3, very strange I don't know if it was a Windows update or something with Nvidia? I rolled back drivers and still the same, it was doing it before this update but out of the blue. It worked fine before, great frame rates.

If I shut down and start up and load Just Cause, it got to the menu, but crashed right after. Once it got a few seconds into the game but was running 10 fps never had that before.

Strangely I can run LEGO Jurassic World and Disney Infinity just fine. What could be wrong? Bad GPU?

Maybe should start a new post and fill in as much system specs as you can in your profile.

    New hotfix driver available, 361.82.

This is a GeForce Hot Fix driver, version 361.82, that addresses the following issues:

did your random lock ups stop? Is your system ok on this latest driver. Have to admit I have stuck with the original driver shipped with my system (I think 355.xxx) as am wary of nasty surprises with a new driver that can unsettle an otherwise well functioning system. I guess I'll upgrade driver if there is a compelling reason to do so but as everything is running great on the 980ti I'll stick for now.

I'm just surprised that Windows update hasn't tried to force a newer driver onto me. It's good that it has not done so. But the auto driver updates feature is enabled (as I want auto install of new devices) and I know my driver is a few months old now. Should I be expecting Windows update to try and slipstream one in soon or has MS seen sense not to force these things now (maybe nvidia themselves has somehow blocked Windows update from getting at their new driver releases)? Given the frequency of nvidia driver releases I suppose it wouldn't be great if MS pulled them down anyway

My random lock ups were due to the new build of Windows and not the Nvidia driver. Rolling back to the last Windows build that didn't have issues with the graphics stack, 10099, fixed the lock ups. My system is running fine on these new hotfix drivers. I haven't done any heavy gaming so far, but I ran a couple 3DMark Fire Strike tests without issue.

As for auto-updates via Windows Update...I haven't had that happen in months, so I'm thinking MS got around to stopping that. It was pretty annoying.
