    GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M driver for Windows 10?

    Hi,

I have an older HP Pavilion laptop with a Nvidia GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M graphics card.

On the Nvidia pages I get the following message when trying to find Windows 10 drivers for this card:

The manufacturer of this system requires that you download the driver for your GPU from their support site.

Searching the HP pages, I can only find Windows Vista drivers for this card...

I've searched the web and found some solutions however they have not worked on my computer...

Any help would be appreciated so that I at least can have a bit higher screen resolution. As of now it is 1024 x 768

    Thank you!

The latest drivers I see at nVidia are 179.48, from 2009.

Win 10 is supposed to support WDDM 1.0 (Vista) drivers or newer. The above may be the best ones available without hacking. Have you tried installing them in Compatibilty Mode? If that does not work, you could expand the archive (7Zip is freeware) and manually install.

Yet another option would be hacked drivers from laptopvideo2go. Good luck.

Thank you. Unfortunately, the 179.48 driver did not work... I've tried installing both with Administrator rights and in Windows Vista compatibility mode.

It is installed as far as I can see. A message at the end says something like:

Install Shield Wizard has completed the installation of NVIDIA System Tools. Before you can use the program, restart your computer.

After doing so nothing seems to be changed and I am not able to increase the screen resolution...

I did go to laptopvideo2go, but it did not make any sense to me... What should I download here?

I haven't messed with them in years. See:

Short version: you exchange the installer's .inf file with one that includes devices that nVidIa does not.
