Screen is stretched/cannot change aspect ratio

    If you re-boot Microsoft Basic Display Adapter will re-install.
    This sounds similar to my Dell Dimension 3100 story, where the onboard graphics chipset does not support widescreen. Fitting a graphics card is the simplest answer in my case.

    If PC worked with Windows 8/8.1, there is no reason to not to work with Windows 10. If normal installation doesn't work, you may try:
    1. Install drivers for 8.1 (run as administrator and check compatibility) and then try to update
    2. manually install drivers
