Thanks so much for the reply... What I find odd, when I re-sit the older Video Card everything works fine. That would suggest all other connections are fine, when I re-seat the GTX 950, it snaps in. I did when a light (green) list up - this occurs on the GTX 551 Video Card but no light lights up on the new VC (which originally led me to believe the problem was a power issue, but my PSU IS 850, should be plenty sufficient).
When powered up with the new VC, I get to the Gigabyte Logo screen, I then use the correct keys to try to get to the BIOS setup but nothing works, again I get a quick single beep followed by long single beeps app. 6, 30 seconds apart then the screen goes blank except for a blinking cursor located at the top of the screen, left side.
Based on other advice I will try again and try clearing the CMOS.... Obviously this needs to be done with the old VC?
I am as others are confused about your talk about a light for the video card, is it on the board because you mention it as being with both video cards ? O.k. so no other cables are loose on any other hardware.

You need to look also at the beep codes i showed you from the manual to determine the cause, yes it can be defective to or something was damaged during install. Nothing that states it like you mentioned for the beeps during post, need to listen few times. Only thing starting as 1 short beep is a successful boot, possible rest follows what is wrong, it should beep once on all successful boots this would be with your board. Think clearing the CMOS is just resetting the BIOS settings to default.

Hiya.... Did some searching and found and installed another Mother Board, this one is still old but newer than the other one, it a gigabyte ga-x79s-UPS-WIFI. It has dual EUFI Bios and a Clear CMOS Button.... Suffice to say I installed this one, hooked up the power and viola.... Same result... I cleared the CMOS (will try switching the Bios to which ever is the secondary one next).... On this model I remember initially I setup a SLI connection for 2 Video Cards....would this have an effect since this new Video Card is a single one not two?

I'm assuming the Error Codes remain the same for this newer Gigabyte MB (again, I get a series of short beeps & can't access any options, delete, F9 or F12 once the MB Logo page prompts up).... I did re-sit one older card and everything worked normally.

Starting to to think the GTX 950 is a dud....

Same Power Supply used ? If BIOS is cleared as far as i know it would be o.k. and i do not think there is settings in the BIOS for SLI, as i never did SLI. Unless a power issue it might be the card then. Was this card brand new or bought used or received from someone you knew ?

Bought the Video card from newegg.ca (40% off -refurbed, originally $225 CAN Sale price $145 CAN)... The fans run on the VC. Thinking about re-hooking up the old video cards (which work fine) and check out the Bios, Boot order, etc.

If it boots with other card i am sure there is nothing out of order there. There is no integrated Graphics on either board you tried. Just set the BIOS to default and exit. Refurbs can be bad, usually no warranty from manufacturer unless sent back to NewEgg within 30 days of purchase.

hey all, thanks for the input... I contacted newegg.ca and will receive a RMA tomorrow to replace what seemingly is a defective Video Card... My new plan is to spend a little (possibly get a GTX 960/970 4gb Video Card) fingers crossed that'll work better...

Newegg is a good company you will have no issues doing that. I have an EVGA GTX 970 SSC 4GB, heard of some issue with both 960 and 970 for some, but so far for me mine has worked great for almost 2 years now. Good luck and let's see what happens.

Well i have been buying EVGA Graphics cards for years and have not had any issues myself, i would recommend them, there rated good and support is good 24/7. Also have an EVGA 750 G2 PSU, they make good PSU also and again most are rated well.

Thanks! Makes me like them even more. I might be buying a 960 from them. :)
